DHARAMSHALA: Two more Tibetans have died after setting themselves on fire in separate incidents, taking the total self-immolations to 89, including 27 in November alone.

Bendey Khar, 21, died after setting himself on fire at Tsoe in Kanlho in north-eastern Tibet yesterday (28 November). He called for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet, the release of all Tibetan political prisoners, freedom of religion and language as well as the protection of Tibet’s fragile environment.

DHARAMSHALA: Reports coming out of Tibet say a Tibetan nomad died after setting fire to himself in north-eastern Tibet on Tuesday, taking the total self-immolations to 86, including 23 in this month alone.
Kalsang Kyab, 24, poured petrol on himself and walked towards Kyangtsa town office, shouting slogans calling for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Kirti Rinpoche. He set fire to himself when he reached the entrance of the town office. He continued raising slogans before he died.
Local Tibetans carried his body to his home, where monks of Drenpa and Gyalgey monasteries are offering prayers.
Local Tibetans describe Kalsang Kyab as a gentle person, who spent his time herding cattle since childhood.

DHARAMSHALA: In another fiery protest against the Chinese government’s repressive rule in Tibet, an 18 year old Tibetan teenager died yesterday (27 Nov) after setting himself on fire around 11 pm (local time) in Sangkhog, Labrang in north-eastern Tibet. It was the second self-immolation of the day, taking the total self-immolation toll to 87 since 2009.
While engulfed in flames, Sangay Tashi was shouting slogans calling for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and the release of the 11th Panchen Lama and all other political prisoners from jail, eyewitnesses claimed.
He died on the spot after which local Tibetans later carried his body to a nearby house.

མགོན་པོ་ཚེ་རིང་། Gonpo Tsering

November 27, 2012 9:54. Three more Tibetans have died after setting themselves on fire in north-eastern Tibet in the last two days, taking the total self-immolations to 85 out of which 22 took place in November alone.
Sangay Dolma, a 17-year-old nun, set herself on fire on Sunday night at Bharkor village, Dokarmo township in Tsekhog in Malho. She died on the spot. Local Tibetans cremated her body on Monday morning.
Sangay Dolma is survived by her two parents.
In another incident, 18-year-old Kunchok Tsering died after setting fire to himself at the entrance of mining field in Achok town in Labrang in north-eastern Tibet on Monday.
Kunchok Tsering is survived by his parents. Local residents have been visiting his home to pay their condolences.
In yet another incident, Gonpo Tsering, a 24-year-old father of three, set fire to himself in front of the prayer hall of Ala Dheu Monastery at Luchu in Kanlho in north-eastern Tibet on Monday. He raised slogans calling for freedom and human rights in Tibet, and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet.  He died on the spot. Local Tibetans from the neighbouring villages gathered in huge numbers to offer their prayers and condolences to Gonpo Tsering. There is a heavy presence of security forces in the region following the incident.
Despite repeated appeal by the Central Tibetan Administration not to take drastic actions, 85 Tibetans have self-immolated in Tibet in protest against the Chinese government’s repressive rule.

DHARAMSHALA: Wangyal, a Tibetan man in his 20s, have set himself on fire in protest against the Chinese government in Serthar, north-eastern Tibet around 12 noon (local time) today (26 November).
Wangyal set himself on fire in front of the golden-horse statue at the local ground in Serthar. Chinese authorities immediately arrived at the immolation site and took away Wangyal’s body, eyewitnesses said.
His current whereabouts and status is unavailable.
Hundreds of local Tibetans later gathered at the site to show their solidarity.
Wangyal is an ex-monk from Taktse township in Serthar. He is the 82nd Tibetan to self-immolate against the policies of the Chinese government. The self-immolators have called for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans.

November 24, 2012 10:39 am DHARAMSHALA: The Central Tibetan Administration today reiterated its deep concern over the alarming escalation in self-immolations by Tibetans inside Tibet, as fresh reports coming out of Tibet say one more Tibetan has died after setting himself on fire in Tsekhog (Ch: Zeku) in Malho in north-eastern Tibet.
Tadin Dorjee, 29, set fire to himself at the entrance of Dokarmo town office in Tsekhog around 6:30 pm (local time) on Friday. He then chanted prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with folded hands. He died on the spot.
Thousands of local Tibetans offered prayers and attended his funeral that night.

DHARAMSHALA: Fresh reports coming out of Tibet say a Tibetan man died after setting himself in Luchu (Ch: Luqu) in Kanlho in north-eastern Tibet (incorporated into China’s Gansu Province) Thursday night, taking the total self-immolations to 80, including 18 in this month alone.
Tadin Kyab, 23, a former monk of Shitsang monastery, set himself on fire at Luchu around 10:00pm (local time) on Thursday, hours after 18-year-old Lubum Tsering burned himself to death in Rebgong (Ch: Tongren) around 4:20pm.
One photo shows a completely burned body of Tadin, while another shows his framed photo along with that of Holiness the Dalai Lama in front of lamps.
A source from the region said whenever someone self-immolates, Tadin Kyab used to say “if he can do the same thing” and that “there is no worth living if His Holiness the Dalai Lama is not allowed to return to his homeland.”
Local Tibetans learned about the incident only this morning, following which his body was carried to his home where monks of Shitsang monastery performed prayer service.
Tadin Kyab is survived by his mother, and two brothers.
The Central Tibetan Administration today organised a prayer service to mourn the tragic self-immolations in Tibet and express solidarity with all those Tibetans who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Tibet.
Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the democratically-elected leader of the Tibetan people and political successor to His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet, appealed to Tibetans and supporters around to world to form a coalition with as many human rights groups to organise and participate in the Global Solidarity Day on 10 December. We also request them to dispatch delegations to visit different media organisations in order to create awareness about the ongoing tragedy in Tibet. Equally important is to reach out to as many members of Parliament, Congress and government officials, he said.
“Despite our repeated appeals not to take drastic actions, self-immolations continue in Tibet. Therefore, I appeal to the international community and governments to stand for justice by answering the universal aspirations of Tibetans in Tibet: the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans,” he said.
The strong and unprecedented statement of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay and visit by U.S. Ambassador Gary Locke to Tibet clearly shows that the situation in Tibet is dire and needs to be urgently addressed. “We urge the newly appointed Chinese leaders to accept and cooperate with the 12 outstanding requests for official visits to Tibet by U.N. and international bodies. The Chinese government should implement recommendations made by the U.N. agencies rather than resorting to blame game,” he said.

November 23, 2012 12:13 pm DHARAMSHALA: Lubum Tsering, an 18-year-old Tibetan, burnt himself to death at Dowa town, Rebgong in north-eastern Tibet on Thursday (22 November), taking the self-immolation toll to 79.
Eyewitnesses said Lubum Tsering’s last rites were performed by the monks of Dowa monastery at a nearby crematorium.
Lubum Tsering is survived by his father Tsego.
The Chinese authorities in eastern Tibet have announced stern measures to stop government aids to the families and well-wishers of the self-immolators.
The Central Tibetan Administration urged the Chinese government to address the underlying grievances of the Tibetan people, instead of imposing counter-productive measures targeting the families and relatives of the self-immolators.
The self-immolators have called for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans.

ཚེ་རིང་དོན་འགྲུབ། Tsering Dhondup

DHARAMSHALA: Tsering Dhondup, 34, set himself on fire, protesting against the Chinese government’s failed policies in Tibet around 8:30 am (local time) today (20 Nov) at Amchok, Labrang in north-eastern Tibet’s Amdo region.
He burned himself in front of a local mine field and died on the spot.
Tsering Dhondup is survived by his wife Tamdin Tso and his two young children.
Currently, the monks of Amchok monastery are performing his last rites and people are pouring in from all over the area to pay their last respects to him.
Tsering Dhondup is the 78th Tibetan to set himself on fire calling for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans.

དབང་ཆེན་ནོར་བུ། Wangchen Norbu

DHARAMSHALA: Wangchen Norbu, a 25 year old Tibetan youth, set himself on fire yesterday (19 November) near Gaden Choepheling monastery in Domey Tsoshar, north-eastern Tibet around 8 pm local time. He died on the spot.
While engulfed in flames, he was calling for the return of His Holiness the Dalai lama to Tibet, the release of the 11th Panchen Lama and freedom for Tibetans, eyewitnesses said.
Wangchen Norbu’s body was cremated later that night around 10:30 pm in front of the monastery. Hundreds of local Tibetans attended the funeral to pay their last respects.

He died on the spot. A photo shows his body completely engulfed in flames in front of a row of local Tibetans.
